Coding Opens Doors for Students With Visual Impairments
At the Poona School and Home for Blind Boys — established in 1949 and pictured here with four team members gathered at its entrance — the Year 1 review of the ProGame Tactile Digital Skilling Program marked a turning point: students with visual impairments who had never encountered coding are now solving challenges and building logical thinking skills. The program, run in partnership with Bajaj FinServ and AssisTech Foundation, is midway through a three-year journey across four partner schools in Pune. As the team moves into Year 2, the shared conviction is clear — visual impairment should never be a barrier to access, aspiration, or participation in the digital world.
